Meredith: What's gonna happen to them?
Noah: After they're cleaned up from Suresh's cocoons--they'll be kept 'til the Haitian gets back in the country. Then they'll wake up wondering where they've been the last week.
Meredith: Is this really necessary?
Noah: Yes Meredith, it--(Noah's cellphone interupts)
Noah: (into cellphone) About time...No, Meredith and I got this one. (hangs up)
Noah: (to Meredith) We're going to see an old friend of yours.
Meredith: (looking at photo) Danny Pine? This is the Vietnam vet Thompson and I took down.
Noah: You'd think he'd know enough not to visit his son.
[Caption: Waterbury, Connecticut]
Meredith: He has a son?
Noah: Don't worry about that. I'll take the front. You go around back.
[Caption: A few minutes later]
(Meredith enters the back door with her left-hand enflamed, and walks down a hallway to meet Noah and the house occupants)
Meredith: Noah, what are you doing?
(Noah holds Pine's son at gunpoint)
Meredith: Leave the kid out of this.
Noah: Now's not the time, Meredith. Turn yourself in, Pine.
Danny Pine: You lock me up for no reason, break into my house...and take my son hostage?!
Noah: A little help?
Meredith: I don't know 'bout this...and he's too far back.
Noah: Be creative, but do something.
(Meredith takes a bottle of alcohol, and fashions a crude molotov cocktail, ignites it, and throws it at Danny, who turns his arm to metal, blocking the firebomb)
Danny Pine: Enough.
(Danny then smashing the sprinkler system to douse his buring shirt, and Meredith's flaming hand, then grabs Meredith, and threatens to punch her with his metal arm)
Danny Pine: Let him go!
Meredith: Noah, just listen to him. Don't tear apart another family -- like you did to mine.
Noah: You want to talk about Claire? Now?!
Meredith: I just want you to think about what you did.
Noah: I have. And I don't regret any of it.
(Noah starts shooting rounds at Danny who blocks them with his arm, but it causes him to loose his grip on Meredith and his arm also returns to normal.)
Noah: (standing over Danny, gun still drawn) Claire's the best thing that ever happened to me. And she got what she needed -- a stable, loving home. Something Mr. Pine is incapable of providing.
[Caption: Moments later]
(Pine is now in handcuffs being let off by Noah.)
Noah: Come on, William.
(Meredith opens a closed door to a room, seeing a recently killed woman laying in the floor.)
Meredith: Oh my God...Pine, Did you...?
Danny Pine: My ex-wife? Yeah, I did it. Didn't mean to kill her. But she did have it coming. Cheated on me, spent all my money, stole my house and my kid...
Noah: (to Meredith) The boy will go to a good family, I promise.
Meredith: You're right. I couldn't have given Claire what she needed. I wasn't ready to be a mom. But it should have been my choice.
(Outside in their car, driving off as the Pine house is seen burning in the background.)
Meredith: I guess this partnership is over.
Noah: Guess so.
